BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Pace Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Georgia, with an enrollment of 1,150 students in Pre-First through twelfth grades, has an opening for 2024-2025 water polo season.

REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics & Upper School Water Polo Head Coach

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: A part-time, early-August to mid-October season appointment. On-campus responsibilities include weekday on-campus practices (90 minutes). Coaching responsibilities include weekend water polo matches (per league rules). All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on season review conducted by the Director of Athletics/Upper School Water Polo Head Coach.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closely with the head water polo coaches, this individual is responsible for supporting various aspects of the water polo program. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia Water Polo Association (GWPA).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy
  • A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
  • Playing experience and understanding of basic water polo rules;
  • Good communication skills with players, parents, and the Athletics Department;
  • Energetic, creative, self-motivated, and a team player;

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the water polo coaches and help supervise the team at events;
  • Represent Pace Academy and the water polo program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.

This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season
