BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Following the cancellation of the 2020 tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National State Challenge 2021 returns to the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pa., and North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa., will host the event on Wednesday July 7-Sunday July 11.
The National State Challenge was established in 2008 as a venue for some of the nation’s best teams to meet. Boys’ 18U and Girls’ 18U competition is slated to be contested, while 14U action will also take place if there is a demand and enough teams sign up.
“We are excited to host the tournament this year. We are hopeful the tournament will draw some teams from out of the area. Given the year we just had we are all thankful to be back playing this Summer”, stated AWP Director of Membership Damon Newman.
One of the premier events of the year for both men and women, the tournament is expected to be a recruiting stop for multiple college coaches.
This year’s teams in addition to competing for attention will also be vying for the $1,000 prize for the winners.
Deadline for the event is June 11th, placement is secured with $100 deposit.
