BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — American Water Polo (AWP) reminds its membership that Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 11.
Clocks officially “spring forward” at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. That means that the time between 2:00-3:00 a.m. on Sunday doesn’t exist with time jumping from 1:59 a.m. on Sunday to 3:00 a.m.
DID YOU KNOW: The day was enacted on March 19, 1918 (making 2018 the 100th anniversary) by the federal government as a way to conserve coal during World War I. While the government stopped the practice later that year, local governments kept the date going for years before it was nationally recognized again in 1966.
